Coffee Nonfiction

Coffee is the tool that mobilizes the machinations of my workday.  When I am en route I don’t want to experience my coffee rather, I want to consume my caffeine.

Work coffee is perfunctory and perfunctory coffee is not meant to be lingered over.  It’s a coffee that is quick, hot, generously caffeinated, and, ideally, portable.  If I’m doing work coffee right, I’m not making it at home; I’m buying it on my way to someplace else.  The business of work coffee is simple; it quenches, warms, and sharpens – the liquor of commerce.
